Editing Log 3

We edited in the filming of the heart balloon that we have filmed previously today and it fits really well with the idea that we had. It looks really effective and fits in well with the love theme that is in the song.

Filming Log 4

We took shots today of me and Martin again but with a heart balloon prop. There are 8 beats at the start of the song and we originally had an idea to film a different pair of shoes walking across a crossing on each beat. This we decided didn't match with the narrative progress we have already made so decided to use the balloon as the main focus. Martin was shot coming in with the balloon and then giving it to me. This was made to look like camera stills but with slight movement. We also took a shot of me outside letting the balloon go which looks effective as it connotes letting 'Martin's characters feelings go'.

Editing Log 2

We edited some more today, Shiv took control again as I didn't want to mess anything up but I had my input with ideas. We placed our new film of me putting the posters up around the school in and it has bulked up our narrative shots a lot. They all work well together as we have the rehearsal scenes and photo shoot scenes with me and Martin and then we have shots of me putting posters up around the school- it all links together.

Filming Log 3

After completing our media exam we can now get back to our music video project. We took the first lesson back to film some more of me putting posters around the school to advertise the 'Romeo and Juliet production'. We used the printing office and the school corridors to film and it has worked out really well. The downside was that I didn't have the 'rehearsal' costume on me so I just had to wear my blue coat, jeans and boots which still fits with the genre so doesn't make a drastic difference to the video. I also had my glasses on so people can still recognise it is the artist 'Lenka'.

Editing Log 1

Today we edited all our clips for the first time. I have no idea how to use the editing machine at all so Shiv took control of that which worked out well as she lined all the clips up and sorted out vaguely where we were going to place our narrative scenes. We also figured out what else we had to do so we need one more performance shot of me in rehearsal clothes and we need some of putting posters up around the school.

Filming Log 2

We filmed for the narrative scenes today of me and Martin rehearsing in the school hall. It only took 30 minutes which was really quick and we managed to get some good footage and shots. We also came up with some ideas while in their to do a over the shoulder shot of us highlighting our lines which we are going to speed up when we edit.
